Snow
I. 1. a. The partially frozen vapour of the atmosphere falling in flakes characterized by their whiteness and lightness; the fall of these flakes, or the layer formed by them on the surface of the ground. (OED)
Okay, sno, I get it. Snow, snjór (Icel.), schnee (G). "Frozen vapour" my ass, they should've just said frozen water on the ground that gets between your toe pads and melts:

Would've been a lot more straightforward if they'd said that. Lots of compound nouns with snow, but, strangely no compound listed for "snow-board." You'd think there'd be some kind of example sentence like "Dude! Let's fucking go snow-boarding! Yah!" But not even in the Draft September 2006 Additions. Go figure.
